Lead Process Control Specialist - Programming the energy plant of the future
Imagine a future where you are a key player for programming the overall control system for the various sub-systems at the energy plant incl. Carbon Capture and PtX.

Join us in this role where you’ll be responsible for driving the technical aspects of all engineering phases in the control system in relation to our energy Plants. Your tasks include working with specification, design, programming and implementation of DCS automation systems, as well as technical project management.

You’ll be part of Control Systems (part of Technology) where you, together with your colleagues, will support the operation, construction and optimization of our energy systems. We are 11 highly skilled technical specialists in Process and Control Systems, located across Ørsted’s main energy plants or our office in Skærbæk. We work with control systems (DCS) and process control, we assist operations to identify performance optimization, we contribute to the continued expansion of green technologies and systems, e.g. setting the strategy and concepts for technology development, new plants etc. As a team, we cooperate close with colleagues in the entire organization and our suppliers. We spare across the department, share solutions and experiences. We value a good working environment, humour and team spirit.
You’ll play an important role in:
- contributing to improve and increase the energy plants' flexibility, e.g. using improved process control and closed loop concepts
- carrying out projects focusing on developing new control concepts, the use of advanced models incl. optimisation of these, and initiatives for optimisation of e.g. processes etc.
- leading, cooperating with and managing consultant engineers and suppliers
- providing support and sparring in connection to regulatory technical issues.
To succeed in the role, you:
- hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or similar
- possess experience with power plants and preferably with specialization in regulation and DCS programming
- have a proactive and systematically approach to your working tasks to uphold continuous overview
- thrive with both practical and theoretical tasks
- have the ability to create and maintain good relations with your business partners and internal colleagues
Please note that you’re expected to do some travelling between our Danish locations and suppliers, as you’ll have projects and tasks away from your normal workplace. And for some projects it will make sense to stay overnight for some days.
