Renewable Portfolio Risk Specialist

Imagine a future where you oversee the financial market risks of our renewable portfolio and investment pipeline

Join us in this role where you’ll oversee and manage the financial risks embedded in our renewable portfolio and investment pipeline. You’ll play a key role in setting mandates that ensure that our financial performance and predictability are aligned with our company’s risk appetite and monitor compliance. You’ll also be a trusted risk manager who analyses and communicates how our company is positioned, based on expected power production, hedging strategies, and power price outlooks.

Welcome to Group Merchant Risk
You’ll be part of Merchant Risk Europe in a team of twelve, where you, together with your colleagues, will work with a large set of stakeholders across the organisation, interacting with many different nationalities and backgrounds. We work hard to ensure that our risk frameworks and methods are fit for purpose and enable the company to achieve the financial targets set by management. As a team, we’re curious, bright, and commercially oriented, working professionally while keeping an informal tone with room for fun and laughter. Inspired by design thinking, we prioritise prototypes and knowledge sharing.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • ensuring alignment at portfolio and asset project level with the overall company risk appetite, analysing and communicating our company’s risk picture and ensuring compliance with our risk mandates and policies
  • advising the Chief Risk Officer and senior management by delivering insightful analysis of long-term portfolio risks from assets, subsidies, and contracts, empowering them to make informed decisions
  • providing ad hoc support to M&A on deal structuring, risk overviews, and valuation input on divestment and investment decisions
  • ensuring high-quality data foundation and monitoring, visualising and communicating portfolio risk levels to senior management
  • creating and maintaining informal and trusting relationships with our broad base of stakeholders
  • sharing your expertise and collaborating with others to drive innovative solutions.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • possess a solid financial and/or mathematical background and are used to working with and extracting insights from large amounts of data
  • either have experience or are curious about the risk management role, tools, hedging instruments, and risk models
  • enjoy being challenged with new tasks and projects which are centred around solving business problems and ensuring the right incentives
  • take a leading role in challenging the status quo, mentoring your peers, and have a fit-for-purpose mentality
  • find it motivating to create results through teamwork and develop good relationships with your colleagues and stakeholders
  • embrace working in a dynamic work environment, as Ørsted is currently undergoing significant changes.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
