Change of Ørsted Korea Country Manager

Ørsted has announced that Seung-Jun Lee has been appointed interim Country Manager for Korea, taking on the role to lead Ørsted’s business in Korea.

Seung-Jun Lee takes over from his predecessor as Country Manager Seung-Ho Choe who has departed the company for personal reasons.

Seung-Jun Lee has served as Programme Development Director for Ørsted Korea, leading one of the largest offshore wind projects in the country since July 2021. Prior to Ørsted, Seung-Jun brings experience from senior roles at Siemens Energy and Samsung C&T in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects in the energy sector for 25 years. He began the interim position in June 2023.

Per Mejnert Kristensen, President of Ørsted Asia Pacific, says:
“I would like to thank Seung-Ho Choe for leading our team in Korea since early 2022. I am grateful for his efforts to mature and grow our business to support Korea’s green energy transition. I am confident that Seung-Jun Lee, as interim Country Manager, will lead the team to great success in our offshore wind projects in Korea.

As the world’s first, largest and most experienced offshore wind developer, Ørsted is ready to partner with Korea to unlock the power of offshore wind.
Ørsted strongly believes Korea has great potential and optimal conditions to develop offshore wind projects.

We reiterate our commitment to developing opportunities in this market which will create thousands of local jobs and supplier opportunities and help fulfil Korea’s clean power ambitions.”
