Seung-Ho joins Ørsted with over 30 years of experience in project development, financing, and M&A transactions in various sectors, including power and energy, where he, among other things, headed the investment divisions for renowned international investment banks. In his new role as Country Manager for Korea, Seung-Ho has overall end-to-end responsibility for Ørsted’s Korea business, expanding its presence and visibility, overseeing the successful development of the 1.6 GW Incheon offshore wind projects, developing new greenfield projects and other new business areas such as renewable hydrogen, as well as focusing on further cultivating Ørsted’s strong partnerships with the Korean supply chain.

Matthias Bausenwein, President of Ørsted Asia-Pacific, says: “Seung-Ho will chart the course to mature and grow our business through collaborating with local partners, stakeholders, and suppliers across the value chain, ensuring the deployment of our unique expertise to enable sustainable green energy systems through our 1.6 GW Incheon offshore wind projects and other potential renewable buildouts in various regions of the country as we are committed to supporting Korea in achieving its energy transition.”

Seung-Ho says: “Ørsted is on the cusp of being the force behind Korea’s inevitable rise to the top of renewable energy in Asia and beyond. We are confident to share our more than 30-years of experience and work with local partners to repeat our global success in Korea, and I look forward to working with the whole Ørsted team to make this happen.”

About Ørsted in Korea
As the global leader in offshore wind, Ørsted has long-term collaboration with Korean suppliers since 2013 and established our office in Seoul for offshore wind development since 2018 with fabrication yards in Goseong, Tongyoung and Gwangyang to support our global and regional portfolios.

In November 2020, Ørsted announced the intention to develop Incheon offshore wind projects, which will be located more than 70 kilometres off the coast of Incheon City. With a potential capacity of 1.6 GW, the projects can provide clean energy to power up to 1.3 million Korean households and a reduction of almost 4 million metric tons of CO2 per year. The construction of the projects will be finalised in 2026, subject to permits, off-take agreement, and final investment decision. For more information, please visit https://orsted.kr/
