Welcome to the Ørsted Incheon Offshore Wind Farm

Korea’s new green energy hub in Incheon

Ørsted’s Incheon project will lead the way for a thriving offshore wind industry to support Korea’s green energy transition.

The gigawatt-scale wind farm will generate reliable clean energy, attract long-term investments and create thousands of jobs in Incheon and beyond.

The project will provide opportunities for local industries, fishermen, and residents throughout the entire cycle of the project from the development stage to construction and during operations.

As the global wind power leader, Ørsted has unparalleled capabilities to deliver this large-scale offshore wind power project to the highest standards.

We look forward to supporting Incheon City to become a green hub and contributing to the renewable energy supply required by Korea’s export economy.

Benefits to the community & industry

Green energy must work for the many, not the few.

At Ørsted, we believe that the green transition should not only have a positive impact on climate and nature, but also deliver lasting benefits for society.

We forge long-term partnerships with communities and business to promote co-existence of offshore wind projects in Incheon and beyond.

Ørsted has successfully collaborated with Korea in the offshore wind sector, working with leading Korean suppliers to build offshore wind projects in Europe and Asia since 2013 and provided more than 3 trillion Won worth of contracts.

We have helped Korean companies to become leading, global suppliers in the offshore wind sectors, including submarine cables, towers, foundations, and key components such as steel.

Timeline

Ørsted has secured approval for an Electricity Business License (EBL) from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea which grants exclusive development rights.

Next steps for Ørsted’s Incheon offshore wind project include environmental impact assessments, site investigations and preparation to participate in Korea’s annual fixed price wind auction.

Subject to the successful outcome of these processes and Ørsted taking the final investment decision, the project is expected to be completed in the early 2030s.
