EU Public Affairs Intern

Imagine a future where you play an important role in supporting public affairs strategies in Europe region to drive Ørsted’s green ambition.

Join us in this role where you’ll support our EU and Global Affairs team. You’ll gather and analyze data on EU energy and climate policies, monitor legislative developments, and generate insights for the organization. You’ll draft, policy briefs, and presentations as well as participating in events. By collaborating with experts on various projects, you’ll gain valuable insights and hands-on experience in shaping policies that impact Europe's energy landscape. Your support will ensure the smooth operation of activities within the global regulatory and public affairs area.

Welcome to Global Regulatory and Public Affairs
You’ll be part of the EU & Global Affairs team where you, together with your colleagues will develop positions and engage in dialogues with stakeholders on how to ensure progress in the green transition in both the energy sector and society as a whole. You will work on specific public affairs matters within our business areas in the Europe region.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • assisting in gathering and analyzing information on current and emerging EU energy and climate policies, including monitoring legislative developments and generating insights of its implications to the organization
  • supporting the drafting of policy briefs, position papers and presentations to communicate our positions and findings to stakeholders
  • participating in relevant events, workshops, and meetings and provide reports that capture key discussions and outcomes for internal references
  • collaborating with various experts on the different projects to gain valuable insights and hands-on experience in shaping policies and initiatives that impact Europe's energy landscape
  • supporting the day-to-day operations of the department, including administrative tasks, coordinating meetings and managing schedules, to ensure smooth office functioning

To succeed in the role, you:

  • are currently enrolled in or have recently completed a degree in Political Science, Economics, Energy Studies, Environmental Science, or equivalent
  • demonstrate a strong interest in renewable energy, sustainability, and European affairs, with understanding of the EU institutional system and legislative procedures being a plus.
  • have excellent research, analytical, and communication skills
  • are proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
  • are a team player in collaborating with cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams
  • are fluent in English (written and spoken), with knowledge of other EU languages being a plus.
