Market Surveillance Officer

Join us in this role where you’ll have a leading role in our Market Surveillance function and participate in many different tasks related to monitoring our market activities in the energy markets. You’ll work closely with Legal, our trading floors, your colleagues in Group Risk Management, and many others. You’ll be responsible for operating our trade surveillance systems and securing that our setup keeps being on the forefront safeguarding our integrity on the energy markets.

You’ll be part of a team overseeing Credit, Collateral & Market Surveillance Risk where you, together with your colleagues, will strive to be on top of the risks inherent in our operations, hedging, and trading activities focused on our renewable assets. Our green agenda is only possible if we comply with the financial regulations that are rapidly changing – what we do is a key element in the green transition. You’ll be part of a team that oversees financial risks from different perspectives – in addition to financial regulation risk we are also responsible for counterparty risk and collateral liquidity risk. You’ll play an important role in:
- safeguarding our interest and integrity preventing market abuse in energy markets
- increasing the focus and awareness of the importance of good market behaviour and regulations in particular on our trading floors but also among our other stakeholders
- ensuring a strong collaboration about the importance of good market behaviour and market abuse prevention with Legal and our trading floors
- being the hands-on specialist securing that our trading activities are compliant, and that guidelines and financial regulations are followed – and if required ensure correcting measures are made
- approving algorithms and trading strategies in close cooperation with Legal and the trading floors.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have experience from another trade surveillance position – if your experience is from the financial sector or a supervisory authority then you are curios to learn more about the energy markets
- have knowledge about market abuse regulation such as MAR and REMIT and preferable also of MiFID and EMIR and is passionate about handling the relevant alerts in our monitoring systems on a daily basis
- have a good understanding of trading either on the financial markets or the energy markets
- are motivated by keeping our trade surveillance setup fit for purpose - you follow news flows, talks to peers, system vendors etc. and participates in conferences and other industry events
- thrive in an organisation that is rapidly changing and where you can shape the market surveillance officer role and function.
