Senior Supply Chain Development Manager

Join us in this role where you’ll be responsible for developing American suppliers to support the U.S. for offshore wind.  You’ll work closely with your local and global colleagues in to identify supply chain needs that establish your objectives in building a supply chain and developing suppliers’ capabilities.

You’ll be part of a growing and diverse US team of more than 20 colleagues which prides itself on inclusivity where you, together with your colleagues, will oversee the supplier development.  As coordinated with the other supply chain development managers, you will engage with prospective vendors at site visits, conferences, etc. to encourage and inform their development programs to build the capabilities needed for our activities.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • Becoming an expert on local content requirements and targets.
  • Providing strategic advice for supply chain plans and sourcing strategies in tenders, contributing to Ørsted’s regional local content strategies.
  • Assisting in the creation of economic benefits reports for offshore wind bids.
  • Engaging with local supply chain partners and sub-contractors.
  • Supporting procurement processes with a network of local suppliers.
  • Representing Ørsted at industry events and in local content initiatives and liaising with stakeholders to showcase local content and economic benefits.

This role is essential for developing a sustainable local supply chain strategy that meets Ørsted’s goals and complies with regulatory standards, requiring expertise in industry practices, strategic planning, and stakeholder management.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • Relevant technical or commercial education at Master’s or Bachelor’s level, or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of experience in supply chain roles, such as procurement, supplier quality, or technical/commercial roles involving suppliers in relevant aspects of wind farm or marine construction projects (or a comparable industrial sector).
  • Experience working in a matrix organization.
  • Experience working in a regulated business and/or with public sector or quasi-public sector stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in preparing solicitations and managing the tender process will be highly valued.
  • are comfortable working independently with autonomy while proactively collaborating with colleagues towards achieving a shared mission.
