Welcome to Geographic Information Systems

You’ll be part of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) where you, together with your colleagues, will be part of a multi-faceted team of other experts in the field. Our department deals with a broad range of tasks and stakeholders, where no two days are the same, and you’ll get the opportunity to follow a project from start to finish. You’ll also be part of a team that supports and helps each other across projects and offices.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • performing geospatial information management by collecting, validating, and distributing information to our relevant stakeholders, both internally in the organization and externally to contractors or authorities
  • performing geospatial analysis, e.g., 2D and 3D analysis of seabed data
  • creating and maintaining web-based ArcGIS Portal solutions, such as Web Apps, Web Maps, and Dashboards for your assigned project
  • being responsible for the daily work and information management in relation to the development and construction of our offshore wind farm projects
  • feeding back lessons learnt from your assigned projects to the wider line organization
  • internal and external stakeholder management and workflow development.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • hold a master’s degree, or bachelor's plus work experience in a relevant field, e.g., GIS, geography, environmental planning, or surveying, with a heavy focus on GIS and have a strong understanding of geodesy
  • have extensive experience working with the ArcGIS platform, incl. ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and Portal, within a relevant field
  • have experience with CAD-based software, incl. AutoCAD and can automate repetitive workflows by using ESRI Model Builder or Python scripts
  • have a curious, innovative, proactive, and systematic approach to your work tasks and are ready to be the go-to specialist within your project
  • thrive in a fast-paced environment where task prioritization and quick decision making is essential
  • have experience in, or a familiarity with, Offshore Survey and Engineering datasets.

We offer a flexible workplace, and in this position, you’ll be working in a hybrid (office and home-working) set-up. For this position, this means that you’ll be willing to spend at least three days per week at the office.

Please note that you’re expected to do some travelling in relation to your work, as you’ll be expected to travel to various Orsted US offices, as well as our office in Gentofte Denmark.
